And I say: No, Hillary, thank you. Thank you for being the first woman I've ever voted for in a presidential race. I must admit, I got teary in the voting booth. First, because I had two remarkable choices - good candidates who are "firsts" (viable firsts, that is) when it comes to presidential politics and, second because I voted for a woman.
Why I picked her: She blew me away in every single debate. There is no doubt that Obama is the better speech giver. He's electric and inspiring. But when she debates and talks about what she'll do, how she'll do it, why she'll do it -- I've never heard a person speak with such clear vision and precision. I have been relentlessly impressed and super excited about the prospect.
So, that's my vote and I'm sticking to it. I have to now, actually. Ha ha.
I voted for Obama, whilst my husband voted for Hilary. Which I guess pretty much follows the national trend- White men and black people are voting for Hilary, white women and Latinos are voting for Obama. Lynne is a war-monger and voted for McCain.
ReplyDeleteKara, I think you wrote that wrong. Stereotypically it's: white men are going to Hillary, as are Latinos and white women, mostly older white women - but young people and black people are stereotypically voting for Obama. We are old young voters or young old voters, I guess depending on where we vote... :)
ReplyDeletePS As soon as I saw I had mail, I knew it was from you and that it was about the election. Because A) only you would be up this late and B) if you wrote to me tonight it would be about politics.
Did Lynne do that just to spite Mitt Romney or is she really a warmonger? How can that be? Where did Cheryl and Ed go wrong?
