This Week in WTF - not only does McCain have a myriad of Black relatives but...

Not only does McCain have a whole bunch of black relatives, from back in the day when the McCain family of Teoc, Mississippi, owned a plantation and had numerous African slaves on that plantation, but McCain totally ignores that entire part of his family.

Some of the black relatives are relatives just in name because their ancestors were owned by the McCain family, but they are not mixed race. Other McCains are mixed race from when white McCain men, back in the day, had sex with their black slaves. For real.

McCain's brother and several other white McCain relatives often make the trek back to Teoc where a giant reunion is planned every year, by Teresa and Charles McCain, black relatives of John McCain. McCain never accepts the invitations and never acknowledges that part of his family history. Indeed, in the 2000 campaign, he claimed his family never owned slaves.

Salt in the wounds: several black and white McCain family members at this year's reunion reported they would not be voting for their candidate, even if he was a relative.

After the Debate the Obamas Are Super Awesome

Read this link from Wonkette.com. It's all about what happened AFTER last night's debate. Here's what didn't happen: McCain did not stay to talk to the people.

Best quote from the entry, "The debate may have been a bore, but what happened afterward was extremely telling."

Sip List During the Debate

It's Tuesday, so we can't be a-poundin' the beyahs. Instead I put some pumpkin liquer in hot chocolate (because it's cold outside) and this was the list of sippy sip words:

Shared Words

regulation/deregulation (o 8/m 0)
medicare (o 2/ m 3)
social security (o 3/m 1)
recession(zero)
fundamental (o 8/m 8)
cheesy attempts to empathize or connect with audience (o 1/ m4)
jobs (o 1/ m 3)
credit (o 1/ m 0)
Dow (zero)

Obama only

agreement with McCain (4)

McCain only

acts like a db/ cranky old man (7)

Words to consider for next time

sharing the burden
my friends
reform
tax cuts
billion
middle class
heathcare/ insurance
earmark

Well, that was fascinating. And by fascinating I mean very very dull. It's a good thing I've got the tally sip sip list to follow while McCain drivels and Obama expounds and both evade the quesiton of how in the name of arse we get through this poop time. Yay!
Until next time!

Testy Old Coot

John McCain gets cranky with someone from the Des Moines register. Yeah Irish temper. What an a$$.

Best Comment about McCain's Delay of Debate

Best Comment about McCain's Delay of Debate:

"Frail old man runs from African American asking for change."

On Lipstick

This whole false controversy over Obama's use of colloquialism is vomitous. Vom-it-us.

This is what I want. I want the stupid bullshisse to stop. I want to hear about real things. I want a serious critique of Palin, not a false gendercard playing argument. I want people to tell me innovative things that they will do as the leader of this country. I am sooo soooo soooooo effing sick of the empty bickering and the shallow, meaningless chants, whether it's the optimistic "Yes We Can!" or the vile "Drill Baby Drill!".

I switched my support from Hilary to Obama after Hilary won Pennsylvania and Obama gave this concession speech, which spoke to clearly to that desire of mine. I fear that he, because of the tit for tat with the McCain campaign, has veered from this message.

Dear Obama: please, for the love of the "U S A!!!", get back to this:

New Poster for McCain-Palin Campaign

McCain did something maverick-ish and picked Sarah Palin, one time runner-up for Miss Alaska and current Alaska governor, as his running mate.

The Wonkette had the first scoop on their new campaign ad poster. It is lovely. See it here.

Excellent work, Wonkette. Excellent work.

Off to Maine and then posts are limited because I some of the mineral water I was drinking for my gross guts spilled into the effing keyboard of my laptop. As I heard the fizzle fizzle of what lies beneath, I filled with dread and sadness. Then I decided to read. Then I fell asleep. Now it's way later than I planned for leaving for Maine. So bye!

Follow Up to Weird Dream

It's too bad that this site, The Metaphysical Poll, is no longer taking submissions.

But that's right. For a while there was a series of blogs: "I Dream of Barack", "I Dream of Hillary" and "I Dream of McCain", in addition to a commentary and analysis on all these dreams called "The Metaphysical Poll Blog". People could send in their dreams of the presidential candidates. It was called the Metaphyscal Poll because it was a way to tell how you felt about the candidates, metaphysically.

Guess where I heard about it? On NPR of course. Here and Now to be specific, scroll to "Presidential Dreams."

Alas, the author has retired the site. Still, you should read the whacked out stuff that people posted. It's awesome.
