My friend teaches 2nd graders at a parochial school in Boston, so imagine her panic when, after hearing the news of Jamie Lynn Spears - sister to our most blessed tabloid queen, Britney Spears - her seven year old students wanted to discuss the teenage pregnancy of the Zoey 101 star.Oh lordy.
She quickly changed the subject and ordered them to talk about it at home with their parents because it wasn't something that should be discussed in school. (Especially not at Catholic school!) Thank goodness long division is challenging and engaging.
Being 7, and not 17, they actually obliged.
